Martingale Betting System:
What is it?

The Martingale betting system is one of many popular betting systems that attempts to limit your downside and improve your odds of winning.
We will outline how this betting system can be implemented in more detail here, but you should be well aware that no betting system has been “guaranteed” to ensure victory. No matter what game you play, the casino will always have an edge (or else it would go bankrupt) so these betting systems should be viewed more as a way to change up your play style and enhance your live-play experience as opposed to being a surefire way of increasing your life-savings.
The Martingale betting system is all about avoiding losses by doubling up your next bet so that if you win that hand, your winnings will be large enough to cover your past losses as give you a net gain. Its incredibly easy to implement and can be applied in a wide variety of games like Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, etc where you can wager on bets that payout 2x your bet amount

How to use the Martingale Betting System

The idea behind the Martingale betting system is essentially to keep playing until you come out ahead.

If you bet once, and you win, then you’ve already completed the Martingale betting system.  You’ve doubled up and you can win withdraw your winnings.

If you bet and you lose, then the 2nd bet will be twice the amount of the first bet.  This way if you win, you would have fully recovered the losses of your first bet and will be back to square one and will begin the sequence again by betting the original amount.

Let’s use an example.

In scenario 1, you’ve already won the first game so you are up $10.  The Martingale Betting System is already finished. If you play again and restart the Martingale Betting System, for game 2 you will bet $10.

In scenario 2, you lose game 1 and you’re down $10, so you will double your bet and wager $20 for game Game 2.  If you win Game 2, then you would have won $20 which nets you a $10 gain after you deduct your loss from Game 1.

If you bet $80 on game 4, and win that game, then you will win $80 which is enough to cover the $70 you lost in the first 3 games, and give you a net gain of $10.

If you win game 4 and you want to keep implementing the Martingale System, you restart the sequence and bet $10 for Game 5

In order to try the Martingale Betting System, simply follow the steps below.

1CHOOSE GAME WHERE PAYOUT IS 2X

Recommended games are the following.

  • Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Baccarat

2Make your first bet

We recommend making your first bet relatively small as the Martingale betting system requires you to double your wager amount every time you lose.

If there is a long series of losses, doubling your wager every time will result in a very large wager amount.

Some good bets for the Martingale system are the following.

  • Roulette: Betting on Red or Black
  • Roulette: Betting on Even or Odd
  • Black Jack: Regular Play
  • Baccarat: Betting on the Player

3ADJUST WAGER BASED ON OUTCOME

If you lose, double your wager for the next game.

For example>

if your bet for Game 1 was $1 and you lose 5 consecutive games, your wager for game 6 should be $32.
$1 -> $2 -> $4 -> $8 -> $16 -> $32

if you win, you can bet the same amount again and restart the Martingale betting system or bet using another betting method.

The system is such that if you are able to continue doubling your wager after every loss, so long as you end on a win, you will finish ahead.

Important Points to Keep in Mind

Be well aware of your balance and your first bet amount

Be well aware of your balance and your first bet amount before you start the Martingale betting sequence

Since you are doubling your bet amount every time you experience a consecutive loss, the amount you need to wager can increase very quickly and can potentially exceed your balance.

For example, if you start with a balance of $100 and your first bet is $20, and then lose, then your next bet will be $40.

If you also lose that round, then you will need to bet $80 in order to continue the Martingale betting system but will be unable to continue as you will only have $40 left in your blalance.

The problem with running out of funds before the Martingale system finishes (and you finish with a win) is that you will then need to shoulder all the losses up to that point wiith limited options to win it back.

So always make sure to check your starting balance and be mindful of making your first bet small enough so that even if you experience a series of losses, you will be able to keep pace with the required bets to complete the Martingale betting system.

Make sure to check the table limit

Often times there are specified max betting limits that can vary quite a bit from game to game.

If you play a low-limit variation of the game, then even if you have the funds to double your bet, you may find that the gaming software stops you from placing that bet.

The max betting limits are usually indicated somewhere on the table so make sure you seek this information out before you decide whether to use the Martingale system, and decide on your first bet amount.
In some cases this information may only show up once you put your cursor over your chips or the betting spots.
